Hello and Welcome
“Sela” (סֶלַע), pronounced SAY-lah,
is a Hebrew word meaning rock —
a symbol of steadiness, refuge, and strength.
It is distinct from “Selah” (סֶלָה), a poetic or musical notation often interpreted as an invitation to pause and reflect more deeply.
While the words are different, they share themes of grounding, contemplation, and space to reflect.
Sela Psychotherapy NYC is built on that foundation— creating a steady and thoughtful space where individuals and couples can slow down, explore their inner experience, and move toward meaningful psychological change.
Our work focuses on cultivating deeper self-understanding, strengthening relationships, and supporting lasting emotional growth.
Therapy here is trauma-informed, client-centered, and thoughtfully integrative— drawing from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, IFS-informed work, and the Gottman Method for couples.
All services are provided remotely.
The goal is not simply symptom relief, but clarity, resilience, and sustainable psychological development over time.
Sela Psychotherapy works with several major insurance plans and also offers private-pay options.
